Always Grateful!

At times I can be a whiner and complain about things that to me at the moment are most important and must be dealt with now! Ask Tyler he knows... and is good just to listen to my rantings. But, as soon as I do this it isn't but maybe a few days or sometimes a few hours later that I am reminded of how menial my problems are. I think that God is humbling me somewhat and reminding me that there are those who have it much harder...

Just a few things that have kind of made me step back a little is today hearing about a dear friend having to have open-heart surgery this summer. She of all people is someone who gives and gives and never ever complains, but at the same time is always hit with lots of traumatic health issues. Also this past week I learned of a co-worker's niece who passed away at the tender age of 10 after a battle with cancer. My thoughts turn to her parents and family and the pain they are battling now. Also recently I have thought about the millions of people affected by the earthquakes in China. I can't help, but wonder where they are sleeping, what they are eating, or how they will rebuild after such a horrific experience.
Next time I start complaining about things like traffic or mushy bananas I hope I can remind myself that life really isn't all that bad and the good in life will always outweigh the bad and that God will never give us any trial that is too big for us to bare. Even those who are going thru these horrible experiences will get through them and come out on the other side stronger people...I guess you could say I am grateful for my trials, because they make me who I am.

Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day to all...but especially to those brave, unselfish, men and women who sacrifice their time and sometimes their lifes for our sake and our freedom and our happiness. You and your families are always in Ty's and my prayers...

Snicker Salad and Weezer

I am making Snicker Salad for our family get togethers today...This is a recipe that Katie Butler has made several times and it is so yummy!! Definitley not a healthy salad, but who cares sometimes =)

*5-6 apples, cored and cubed
*1 lg. container Cool Whip
*3-4 SNICKERS candy bars, cut into sm. pieces

Mix all of the ingredients together and refrigerate. Enjoy!

Today I have decided to post the new video for Weezer's Pork and Bean song. Ty and I had fun watching it and trying to figure out the different viral videos portrayed. Weezer is one of my all time favorite bands and if I had time I'd dedicate this blog entry to them...but maybe another time. Let's just say they're awesome and they're releasing the "Red Album" at the beginning of June.

Kelli came to visit!

So, this past weekend one of my favoritest persons in the world came to visit...Kelli, who is my dear roommate from my first year at Snow College. We have so many good memories and laughs. I should seriously right a book about those 2 years. Anywho she flew in from Missourri for a friends birthday and decided to come stay with me for a couple of days. We had a blast visiting with old friends, shopping, eating, and even had time to get a hike in...

I have never really watched American Idol, but since it was David Archuleta day and Kelli's Mom is a HUGE fan we decided to go and catch a glimpse at the gateway. Problem was making our way through thousands of 13 year old screaming girls. This was my only shot of him...blah.

Anyways, I am now a fan. I'm always at Young Women's on Tuesday nights so my Mom and I have been catching the YouTube videos of his performances... Here is my favorite:

Anyways, I hope to be able to go and visit Kelli out in her stomping grounds soon...And this is a shout out to you Kelli, since you apparently NEVER read my blog :(
